What happened
With New York already locked into the No. 3 seed, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Josh Hart and OG Anunoby did not play. Charlotte built a 13-point halftime lead and never surrendered control. The Knicks scored 20 fast-break points and 42 points in the paint, but Charlotte’s early shot-making created a margin New York’s reserve-heavy rotation could not erase.
McBride was the offensive bright spot, scoring 21 points in just over 24 minutes while hitting four of seven from three. New York finished 39-for-90 from the field and 13-for-40 from beyond the arc.
